The atmosphere at the Bourguignon du Marais is convivial and intimate. Restaurant owner Philippe LALOT proposes an exceptional choice of Burgundy wines selected by wine grower Jacques BAVARD. CHEVROT, JAYER-GILLES, ROUMIER, MORTET, PERROT MINOT (the reds), LABET, BOILLOT, GOISOT and CARILLON (the whites) are some of the featured estates sold affordably by the bottle (some by the glass) as well as to take away. The menu’s traditional Burgundy cuisine includes ham sprinkled in parsley, eggs in red wine sauce and Burgundy escargots. For the main course choose from crispy gambas, fresh herbs salad, Beef Bourguignon, and Andouillette à l’aligoté, all made from carefully selected fresh ingredients. Thanks to the open kitchen layout, your meals are prepared under your eyes and a private terrace (heated in the winter) is perfect for quiet dining. For desert, try the cheese plate, selectioned by Pascal TROTTE, or the BERTHILLON ice creams. In leaving, check out Alexandre Dumas’ recipe for “Burgundy escargots” written across the wall. He would have undoubtedly recommented “Au Bourguignon du Marais” in one of this novels.
